    Summer – as far as I’m concerned – is the perfect time for fresh and fruity smoothies. Whether it’s as a cool and refreshing afternoon pick-me-up, as a snack or as breakfast, packed with fresh goodness and nutrients, smoothies and smoothie bowls are a great way to get your 5-a-day as well as filling you up.

    Breakfast smoothie bowls are of course also a great idea if you’re looking to start the day on a healthy note. I mean, who wants to eat jam on toast every day or porridge in the middle of summer, right? With just a little planning ahead (mainly your shopping list) you can whip each of these up in less than 5 minutes using the fab Nutribullet.

    Mixed Berries Smoothie Bowl

    • 200g mixed berries
    • 100ml almond milk
    • ½ frozen banana
    • 1tbsp almond butter
    • ½ tsp vanilla extract
    • for decoration: berries, chopped almonds

    Put all the ingredients into the Nutribullet. Process for 1 minute. Pour into a bowl, decorate and serve immediately.

    Apple & Cinnamon Oat Smoothie Bowl

    • 2 apples
    • 60g oats
    • 1 frozen banana
    • 300ml sweet soy milk
    • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
    • for decoration: apple slices, chopped almonds (because nobody wants to chew on dry oats)

    Put all the ingredients into the Nutribullet. Process for 1 minute. Pour into a bowl, decorate and serve immediately.

    Green Smoothie Bowl

    •  ½ avocado
    • 60g fresh spinach leaves
    • 1 frozen banana
    • 200ml coconut milk
    • 1 kiwi
    • for decoration: kiwi slices, coconut flakes, spinach leaves

    Put the ingredients and ½ the spinach into the Nutribullet. Process for 1 minute and add the other half of the spinach and process for another 30 seconds. Pour into a bowl, decorate and serve immediately.

    Tropical Smoothie Bowl

    • 1 (frozen) banana
    • 1 blood orange or normal orange
    • 1 mango
    • 1 kiwi
    • zest of one lime
    • 150ml coconut milk, whisked

    Wash and (where necessary) peel the fruits. Put all ingredients in your blender and blend until smooth. Pour the smoothie into a bowl and decorate in any way you want.

    Vanilla & Flaxseed Smoothie Bowl

    • 1 (frozen) banana
    • 1 pear
    • 1 apple
    • 2tbsp milled flaxseeds
    • 1tsp vanilla paste
    • 150ml almond milk

    Wash and (where necessary) peel the fruits. Put all ingredients in your blender and blend until smooth. Pour the smoothie into a bowl and decorate in any way you want.

    Berry & Chocolate Smoothie Bowl

    • 1 (frozen) banana
    • 100g raspberries
    • 100g strawberries
    • 100g blueberries
    • 1-2tbsp cacao nibs
    • 150ml coconut milk, whisked

    Wash and (where necessary) peel the fruits. Put all ingredients in your blender and blend until smooth. Pour the smoothie into a bowl and decorate in any way you want.
