Top Cleaning Tips: Care for your flooring

Top tips on how to care for your household flooring.

In any busy household, a couple of spills and drips are inevitable when it comes to your flooring, but how do you combat these stains and get your carpets looking in tip top condition again? We’ve rounded up some of the best hints and tips for all types of flooring, to make sure those pesky stains don’t hang around and your home is left looking it’s very best.

Use bicarbonate of soda to clean carpets

Sprinkle bicarbonate of soda liberally over your carpet. Leave the powder for at least 30 minutes but if you can leave it overnight, all the better. This gives the cleaner time to work, softening the stains and consuming the odours. Then simply vacuum up the powder when you’re done.

Use black tea to clean wooden flooring

Black tea is recommended as a natural cleaning agent for medium to dark hardwood floors, as well as laminates. Steep a bag or two in boiling water then when it’s cool, moisten a cloth in the brew to wash the floor.

Use vinegar to clean vinyl flooring

Use a simple vinegar solution for everyday washing of your flooring. Vinegar is a totally harmless substance that lightly cleans vinyl floors to keep them looking fresh.

Use a toothbrush to clean tiled flooring

Use an old toothbrush to scrub the grout in your tiled flooring.

Use a carpet cleaner a go

They wash and rinse your floors removing embedded dirt and leave your carpets looking as good as new! They’re not just for carpets though as they can also clean hard floors using its dual rotating brush bars, as well as sofas and chairs using its upholstery wash tool.
