Heat Pump tumble dryers are super-efficient, but to save the most energy, programmes may take a little longer to dry your clothes than on standard dryers. It’s important not to overload the drum either, so they can perform at their best.

We’ve all been there – washing goes out, rain starts pouring. And that’s why this Candy tumble dryer will be your fave new gadget. No more scrambling around taking pegs off mid-downpour. Just pop everything in the drum and it has clever Sensor Dry tech inside that’ll work out the perfect timings for each load, whether it’s just a few fresh work shirts or a full load of washing at the weekend. And you can control it with your smartphone over WiFi – the app lets you download new programmes to suit whatever you’re putting inside. Plus, the Easy Case collects water in the door, so emptying it is much easier and saves you some time too. Brill.
