Stacking up after a big dinner? This Smeg freestanding dishwasher takes on 14 place settings across three baskets, so it suits medium households. The Planetarium wash system moves the spray arm in two directions at once, spreading water across all three baskets for precise distribution and excellent coverage.

The third basket, the Smeg Flexi Duo, splits into two movable sections that you can adjust one at a time or lift out altogether. Take a section out and there's room for tall glasses underneath or deep utensils above. Down below, the lower basket handles plates up to 30cm, so oversized dinner plates and serving platters fit without a fight. When the cycle finishes, Dry Assist opens the door on its own to let the steam out, and the 24 hour delay timer lets you pick a finish time that suits you. Load it up and let it get on with it.
