Jumpers that smell of last night's curry can go straight in the drum of this Haier X Series 7 tumble dryer. Its Ion Air Fresh cycle uses a UV light module to ionise the air inside the drum, clearing out up to 99% of bacteria, pollen, and odours without heat or harsh chemicals, so it's a safe bet for delicates you'd rather not wash again. The Pillow Drum has a smooth, snag-free surface that's kinder on your favourite knitwear, and the Anti-Crease function leaves shirts with fewer wrinkles to press out. Smart sensors read how damp your load is and adjust the cycle to match, so a bundle of towels gets what it needs and a light load doesn't get overdone.

Heat Pump tumble dryers are super-efficient, but to save the most energy, programmes may take a little longer to dry your clothes than on standard dryers. It’s important not to overload the drum either, so they can perform at their best.
