DirectSelect puts the zones and all 17 power levels on one front touch panel, so moving from a gentle simmer to a hard sear takes a single tap. The two rectangular zones on the left join into one 380 x 230mm FlexInduction area for a griddle pan or a fish kettle, and the hob works out where your cookware is sitting, carrying the settings over if you slide the pan somewhere else. PowerBoost pushes the right front zone up to 3700 Watts, heating a big pan of water up to 35% faster than that same zone's highest standard power level, although the time you save depends on the pan and how full it is. PerfectFry Plus watches the pan temperature across 11 preset points from 70 to 220°C, so a steak browns rather than scorches.
