A big birthday surprise: AO style
When AO superfan, Andrew, had a birthday coming up, we took the opportunity to make a very special delivery.
Meet Andrew
We first found out about our AO superfan when Andrew’s great grandma, Lizbeth, left a review about Bear. She’d been given one of our famous teddies by our delivery drivers along with her latest order, which she’d then passed on to Andrew. We were chuffed to hear that Bear was such a huge hit and wanted to answer Andrew’s question about when we’d be bringing out a toy AO van.
After reaching out to Lizbeth, we found out that Andrew’s 6th birthday was just around the corner and that it’s not just Bear he loves, but AO too! The timing was perfect for us to surprise him with the ultimate AO experience.
Our birthday masterplan
Andrew and his family live 40 minutes from our Larkhall depot, so we planned for a few of our drivers to hit the road in our swankiest AO van and pop down for the big day. And of course, we couldn’t turn up empty-handed.
After we packed up the van with a sleek Hisense 43" Smart TV and a bag full of goodies – including a one-of-a-kind AO toy van – we were all set for the surprise.
The big surprise
Our masterplan played out perfectly and it was a joy to see Andrew’s face light up when he saw the big green van heading his way – especially when he realised it was packed with gifts for him!
The birthday boy told us, “When I saw the green van coming down the road, I was so excited. This has been the best birthday!"
Andrew got to meet our drivers, have a good nosy around our van, and even take a seat at the wheel. All before getting stuck into his goody bag and discovering all the clever tech on his new TV.
When we caught up with Lizbeth, she told us “Andrew always talks about being an AO driver when he’s older, so he was absolutely over the moon to spend time with the van and the drivers. He’ll be talking about this day for a long time and it’s honestly the best birthday present he could have had - we want to thank AO for being so thoughtful!”
