Did you think that your Breville® Deep Fill Sandwich Toaster was just good for making, well, sandwiches? Think again! How about making mini chocolate cakes instead? These are quick, easy and totally delicious. Serve with chocolate sauce and fresh strawberries or how about serving them warm with some vanilla ice cream?

    Here´s what you´ll need...

    • 100g softened butter
    • 100g castor sugar
    • 2 medium eggs
    • 100g self raising flour
    • 1 1/2 tbsp milk
    • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
    • ½ tsp baking powder
    • couple drops vanila extract (optional)
    • chocolate sauce to serve
    • fresh berries to serve
    • icing sugar to dust

    Here´s how it´s done... Step 1

Using a stand or hand mixer, whisk the butter and sugar for several minutes until light and fluffy, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed.

    Step 2

Add the eggs, one at a time, whisking well with each addition. Add the milk and vanilla extract and whisk them in.

    Step 3

Sift the flour, cocoa powder and baking powder and then fold them in using a large metal spoon. Make sure the batter is well combined.

    Step 4

Heat your Deep Fill sandwich toaster until the amber light is illuminated. Add a heaped tablespoon in the centre of each of the bottom plates, close the lid and cook for 5-6 minutes.

    Step 5

Serve with sliced strawberries, chocolate sauce and a dusting of icing sugar.
