How to take a screenshot on Windows 10

The easiest way to get screenshots on a Windows laptop is with the Snipping Tool. It’s on every device and it’s super simple to capture the whole screen or a small part of it. Here’s how to use it:

  • Open up the Start menu in the bottom left and search for Snipping Tool
  • Click on New to choose what area of the screen you want to capture. Or, you can click the small arrow next to it to change the shape of your snip.
  • Click and drag the mouse to cover what you want to capture, and release it to take the screenshot.

All set! Now you've got your screenshot, you can copy and paste it wherever you like, or save it to your computer. You can also set a delay to take a picture of any pop-ups that are a bit more difficult to capture.
